How do you export external audio from Synths to an MPC Software Mixdown on the Renaissance.

How do I record external hardware audio during mix down? I have all three Roland Boutiques and I would like to incorporate them into MPC Software with my Renaissance. However even though I have them running through an EIE and can successfully record and playback their sound through my monitors (But not my headphones leading out through the Renaissance) when I go to mix down the audio into an .mp3 or .wav (whatever) It doesn't export the audio of the external synth modules. Is there a way to do this with the Renaissance and the MPC Software? Like I said everything is recorded into MIDI and Plays back only through my Monitors no through the Renaissance so when I do export the external synths I get nothing in the export .mp3 file. Is there away to do this besides phrase sampling the audio through my Renaissance and playing it back as a sample?

  • Hi,

    Thanks for posting!

In order for MPC to be able to export and mix in the sound from your external synths, the synth audio would literally need to be recorded (or even at least playing) into the MPC software. BUT, MPC does not have the capability of recording or playing incoming audio on it's own track (Yet!). Right now, you're simply just using the EIE as a mixer to monitor the incoming audio. This is not being sent to MPC.

All of that being said, this is why MPC will open as a plugin in your DAW. This allows you to combine your MIDI tracks from your beat, with real audio tracks recorded into your DAW. For more info on setting this up with your particular DAW, check out all of our tutorial guides here:

    Thanks Corey!

This is basically what I was thinking was happening but wanted to onfirm. I'll try Reason or Logic to export the Leads I have going with the MPC Renaissance. I also was glad to see your comment "Yet"!! I'm hoping for some nice new features in MPC Software v2.0. Hopefully this will be one of those new features.

    Thanks for your response!!
