How to display firmware version currently on MPK mini Mk2?

Hi. I bought my MPK Mini Mk2 last month, May 2016. The firmware update download is dated July 2014. So:

HOW DO I FIND WHAT VERSION OF FIRMWARE THE MPK MINI MK2 HAS CURRENTLY?

I want to see what version it has currently. If the version is already the latest, then I know that I do not need to run the updater.

As a rule, I never update firmware on any device blindly. I should first be able to see what version a device has already before deciding to update or not.

Because I bought my MPK Mini Mk2 in 2016, I suspect it already has the latest firmware version and does not need updating. But I would like confirmation of that, which is why I am asking how to make the device tell me what version it has.

Thanks!

    Hi,

    Thanks for asking!

You're right that the firmware is probably already up to date and thanks for wanting to check this before doing the update anyway :)

But that being said, the firmware updater will tell you before proceeding what firmware version is already on the MPK. That's the only way to verify. So if you find that you're already on firmware version 0.022, than there's no reason to proceed.

I wouldn't even bother with all of that if you're not already experiencing the symptoms that it resolves. Here's what the update addresses:

    - Corrects internal clock rate to better sync with applications
    - Fixes issue where Note Off message is not sent if a key or pad was released after an octave shift

That's an easy way to tell: hold down a key and shift octaves. If the note doesn't get stuck when you release it, than you should be fine!

Let me know if you have more questions!
