how to set up the Fantom X6 in the Mpc Renaissance USB and Midi?

HI i have a IMac OS X 10.9.3 HOW do i set up the FantomX6 usb and midi in the Mpc Renaissance to Rec my tracks from the Fantomx6 Keyboard! So the tracks will sync with the Renaissance as the Master when i record! Do i have to record my tracks in the Renaissance as a sample in the sample recording inputs?

  • Hello Cornelius,

    Thanks for posting!

The MPC Renaissance software and the general workflow are not setup to record full audio tracks, but rather just as a sampler and sequencer.

The basic here would be connecting MIDI input and output to and from the FantomX6 and the MPC Ren. You would then use the Fantom to control the MPC sounds, MPC to control the Fantom sounds, and the MPC to record/sequence MIDI data for the Fantom.

After you completed a sequence of MPC and Fantom tracks, the easiest method of digitally recording the audio from the Fantom would be through a DAW software (Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Ableton, etc...).

Let me know if this helps!
