Is there a Digital Performer 9 preset for the MPK249?

Lots of other DAWs listed in this synth but not DP. Is there one available to download?

  • Hey xorcist,

    Thanks for posting!

There is no official Digital Performer preset for the MPK249 however you can certainly program the MPK's controls and save it as a preset for use with DP. Once you have made changes that you wish to store, press Preset, then the right cursor key. You will have the option to store your preset to a designated slot.

The following thread will help you with Digital Performer:

MPK249 set up with Digital Performer 8 (DP8)

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Hi Nick,

I hope you re-see this thread cause there's a major problem with MPK249 and DP9. After a day or two, it permanently introduces a 2-5 second delay in USB connectivity MIDI OUT -> through DP9 -> Back out to outboard MIDI gear ONLY.

The Akai -> DP9 virtual instruments are fine.

My MIDI interface for the rest of my gear is a MOTU ExpressXT which worked fine for a day, now it's not working.

If I quit DP and try this in ABLETON, ETC, it WORKS FINE!

No clue what's causing this but it's down to the Akai MPK249's USB drivers.

DP shows midi coming in INSTANTLY but the MIDI ExpressXT shows the delay on the output so I think your USB driver eventually through DP control, get's wacked out with the MOTU ExpressXT USB driver.

    Any ideas? Updates? HALPS!

  • So update:

The Akai's USB[A] out is the culprit. If I move to the USB[B] out channels, there is no delay. Somehow that USB[A] from the Akai is broken. No clue why...

Digital performer starts up working fine and 20 seconds later after boot, it goes through a massive delay interpreting MIDI (like 10-15 seconds) then comes back with a random 2-5 second delay on the USB A from the Akai channels....
