Is there another way to route a real-time, external, live, audio-in signal other than through a Main Out on the MPC X?

Hello dear community,

is there a chance to route a real-time external audio signal going into the MPC X through a different output other than main out?

I have a synth midi-triggered by the MPC X and its audio is coming into the channel one. Most certainly one can route the recorded audio-tracks separately, yet in a live situation using a synth can be quite playful and when using different aux-send effects on a mixing desk it is sometimes more flexible to be able to apply diffrent effects to different
One can most certainly do it with recorded audio tracks and similar, yet sometimes when I use an external mixing desk with different aux effects it would be more flexible to be able to split the live audio signals coming in and out of the MPC X.

Does anyone else have tried anything similar?

Many thanks in advance,

Warmly,

Anton

  • Hey Anton,

    Thanks for posting!

The MPC X has 4 stereo outputs (8 mono outputs) available on the rear panel that can be respectively routed to an external mixer. Use the Input Config screen in the Audio tab to customize your track's routing. You can assign the incoming audio signal to mono outputs 1-8 or stereo output channels 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 or 7/8. This will allow you to customize the output channels of the X for independent external processing or mixing.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Hey hey,

thank you a lot for the response.

I did explore this option previously and it does work, but at the same time the signal is still coming out of the Main Out (1/2).

Basically I can route it yes, but I can not take it out of the main and it does not seem to be a Monitor In or Out option either as it always going out of the main anyways.

Any suggestions how one could approach this?

    Many thanks in advance
