  • hello,
I had the same question than you and i've created a thread about it.
I've found a solution and explain it:

  • Thanks, good answer!
but no good solution: workaround: MPC Expansion builder
i made it, but i hate it; "save as" or import were nice

Sure, but anyway, this is the only solution i've found, you can reuse all your sequence, program, track as they were in the source project.
You can import it in the new project.

But i encounter a problem, MPC 2.0 crash when i import the .xpn file

  • Bounce your sequence as a sample! Then you can bring it into any project.

  • Hey Elektrounion,

    Thanks for posting!

If you want to use content from one project in another project, you can copy content from the original project's [ProjectData] file and import it into a new project.

For example, let's consider that we are working with Project A and Project B and want to use Sequence 1 and Program 001 from Project A inside Project B.

First, save Project A - this will create the [ProjectData] file.

Next, navigate to Project A's [ProjectData] file which will be titled Project A_[ProjectData]. This folder contains all the content of the project including sequences, programs, WAV samples, etc.

Copy the content you wish to use in Project B and move it to another directory. In this instance, we would be taking these files: 1.sxq for Sequence 1 and Program 001.xpm for Program 001.

It is important that you copy any content you're moving rather than moving the original files to ensure that Project A opens correctly going forward. If you are moving programs, you must copy the program file itself (the .xpm file) as well as any WAV files that are associated with that program.

Finally, open a new project in MPC - this will be Project B. Drag the files you copied from Project A into this project. The content you add will populate the Project panel in MPC - that's it! Now you can manipulate these sequences, programs, etc. in the new project.

I hope this is helpful to you!

  • Overall this method works, except when audio tracks are involved. The other project will import the audio track xpm files and the audio track names, but doesn't seem to be able to locate the audio track wav files, even if those have also been copied into the folder.

    ...Unless I missed something?
