midi control mode without MPC software or MPC vst

Hi there,
for using the MPC x/live/touch as a controller for other software like Serato, Rekordbox, etc., it will be useful when an option tap at the searching for software screen will pop up, where the user can switch to midi control mode without starting the software.

Second in a lastest tubedigga video with the mpc x there is the possibility to setup the q-link encoders per bank, actually with the mpc live it is only possible to setup 4 q-links (for all banks).
mpc live - 4 encoders
mpc x - 16 x 8 = 128 encoders
or did I something wrong at this point?

  • Hey cupca,

    Thanks for posting!

In terms of using Q-Links in MIDI Control Mode, the MPCs use however many physical controls are available. In other words, the MPC Live offers 4 assignable Q-Links in MIDI Control Mode and the MPC X offers 16 Q-Links.

I think the option to get into MIDI Control Mode with the MPC in Controller Mode without using the MPC Software would be a pretty cool idea! Be sure to submit this as a feature request with the MPC 2 Software's built-in feedback module. The feedback module is represented by a smiley icon at the lower right side of the software next to the browser icons. This information goes directly to the Akai team for consideration!
