I'm getting this MPC 500 ERROR CODE CPU ADDR PC (884b55f80) WHEN INSTALLING 128MB RAM.

Removed the RAM and works fine (built-in 16mb).

I tried holding down the RAM while booting up the MPC500, will read and perform for a short while. Is this a problem with the 3rd party RAM or the Memory Slot Hold Down?

I'm working on getting the placement RAM from the vendor. Anyone else have similar issues or error code?

    Thanks for posting!

    The MPC500 is a legacy product with very limited support. It is possible that the memory you purchased is not compatible with the hardware. If you are receiving a replacement, test with that and it will be a good indication whether it was the RAM you tried to install initially or the MPC hardware itself.

    If you do suspect that the MPC's memory port is at fault, your MPC may require service. Warranty and non-warranty claims are not handled here on the forum, but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the Akai Pro Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu.


    • For quicker support, call your nearest Support Office or International Distributor.
