MPC software cant load VST effects presets ?

I just bought an MPC Studio, and for the life of me i can't see a way to change presets on VST effects plugins that do not have their own preset menu, obviously i am just being blind or stupid here because there is no way anybody would release a host that didn't allow preset changing, any hints on how you do it ?
Of course the manual is absolutely useless and does not even mention presets on effects plugins.

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting!

If the plugin presets do not show up on their own, that means that the plugin is either not communicating correctly or is not communicating it's preset data to MPC. Some plugins just aren't designed to do that.

If this is happening you can try reinstalling the plugin (and Repair Disk Permissions if on a Mac) or contact the developer for more info.

If you are looking at the Studio, make sure that you are selecting the PLG: option (plugin) on the main screen and pressing the Window button to access it's presets from the Studio.

    I hope this helps!

  • No disrespect Corey, but i have now looked in to this matter further and spoken to various people who know the system, The MPC software does not have a native EFFECTS plugin preset lister, if it does then please explain why so many people are complaining about it, oh and by the way i develop VST effects myself....not communicating its preset data to MPC, i really hope that is a generic answer you accidentally posted here and you are not trying to post that nonsense as fact ;)
Presets are part of the VST standard, if the MPC is not showing them it means there is an issue with the MPC, in this particular case it has never actually worked as far as i can tell.
Luckily i only bought the thing to convert some of my content for a friend who uses it, but i really can't stress how amateur this software is right now

Oh I see, I missed the effect part. I was referring to the instrument plugins which does have a preset list that you can select from.

You are correct the effects do not have any sort of preset selection option from the hardware, but of course this can always be changed from the plugin GUI itself. I'll be happy to add a feature request for you though!

To be honest, I don't think I've worked with any DAW that gives you an option to select VST FX presets from outside of the effect GUI. But it's not something I would actively use so maybe I've just never bothered to look.

    Anyway, I hope this clarifies!

  • To be perfectly clear here, there is no DAW that does not allow this, it is utter stupidity for any host not to have this, the fact that the developers at Akai have actually 'chosen' not to implement this (They already have it with Instruments, which means they actually had to choose to not to implement on effects, not forgot, not never got round to it, a VST instrument is the same as VST effect at the host level) is very very scary, they must be so far out of touch with the rest of the world.
Little things lie this make this such a bad experience to work with.
Here, I have taken some screen grabs to prove that EVERY DAW supports this, these are the only three i have installed on my portable system but i can load pretty much every system available over at the studio (They all support it)

    Reaper
    Maschine
    Studio One

  • Wrong. Corey said no FX presets OUTSIDE the FX GUI. All those preset choices you screen cap above, are from the FX GUI in the DAW. The DAW is only hosting the fx and its list of presets. Corey is right. You have shown nothing new here..
