MPC X Lighter Version for Users that Dont Need Standalone Option

Does Akai plan on making a version of the MPC X that is strictly for Controller Mode? I have no need for Standalone. I would prefer to buy a MPC X that has on the Controller mode option. The current MPC X price tag of $2199 is too high for me. I don't want to buy it because a standalone is not what I'm looking for in new unit. I would prefer a cheaper (under $1000) version of the MPC X. Yes I already know that the MPC X switches between controller & standalone. I just would like a MPC X controller. I had the MPC Ren & think this would be a good business move for Akai.

  • Hey Boywonder77,

    Thanks for posting!

In terms of physical controls for the MPC Software, the MPC Renaissance is the closest you could currently get to an MPC X without actually having the MPC X. In a similar vein, the MPC Touch is like the MPC Live without the standalone aspect. If you are interested in the touch display functionality, the MPC Touch might be something to consider. I don't have any information as to whether there are plans for an 'MPC X Lite'. As you know, announcements about updates and new releases will not be published here on the community forum.
