MPC X & Live external unit for Plugins special effects boards within

The MPC X&Live at the moment does not allow you to store 3rd party plugins for the Embedded MPC 2.0 Software. I do not know why they did do this or if it is in the future plan to implement this.

I have a suggesting that they create a special USB extension or expansion unit that is exclusive to the 3rd Party plugins and also create within the unit components for DSP effects geared towards mixing with Akai own proprietary on board plugins for the DSP effects or maybe team up with some other Company to achieve this goal.

The Expansion unit can plugin into the Akai MPC X & Live USB ports where it allows you to see and interact with the external 3rd party plugin unit to use in one own mixes. Also be used on a PC or MAC

  • So are you proposing that be included? I'm sorry I haven't been up to date because I find myself a year into this process re-compiling and making adjustments to my setup because no one can get good information yet. Are these included external? If not, there may be a good reason for that. Processing power. What you could definitely do though is this. I've been seeing this growing so much lately. Rather than using standalone a memory, or wearing down the computer, I might also consider a "dedicated VI superstation". Basically these are made with computers running the Linux platform for music (monte vista) or a server, or a platform like unit via either external VI DSP FPGA Flash or a very small simple GUI/OS like those made by muse research for example. The X and Live may not have the power to run these. I have the touch and I can say I 100% agree with you. Especially for the money.

Yeah they can equip it with CPU processing and maybe power it with a battery and power adapter.

  • They can do everything I mentioned above and yet more. Simple FPGA chips have been around much longer than music industry has used them. DVD players use Dolby chips and Issa and issi chips as well as all kinds of different tactics you could fit in the palm of your hand

  • UAD (Universal Audio has a unit that is similar to the one I suggested.Universal Audio UAD 2 Satellite Thunderbolt OCTO Core DSP Interface

  • Hey Seker,

    Thanks for posting!

I am excited to see how new features will be implemented with the upcoming hardware too! In the meantime, I will be happy to submit this as a feature request for you.
