MPC X/Live/One support for Class-Compliant USB microphones

Could support for Class-Compliant USB microphones over USB be added to the MPC X/Live/One?

A number of good quality, Class-Compliant microphone models are available from manufacturers including Audio-Technica, Rode, Apogee, and Blue Microphones, and require no driver installation on desktop Macs and PCs.

I'm wondering if the driverless design of Class-Compliant audio devices mean that AKAI could add support in firmware to the MPC X/Live/One models for these microphones to work over the USB port.

  • Good idea on class compliant audio!

This would also allow an iPad to send audio through the MPC.

Currently I use a class compliant sound card in between the iPad Pro and the MPC, the MPC as a sound card open up for some better setups.

  • Hey benr,

    Thanks for posting!

That's an interesting idea! Be sure to submit this as a feature request with the MPC 2 Software's built-in feedback module. The feedback module is represented by a smiley icon at the lower right side of the software next to the browser icons. This information goes directly to the Akai team for consideration!

If you need an alternative method of submitting feedback, you may use the following link:

    Thanks for your feedback! :)

There been reports from various users that class compliant (driverless) audio interfaces are working with the new MPC’s..Make sure you have them plugged in and then try to boot up..There was this guy that he used a soundcraft mixer successfully this way giving him extra inputs/outputs with an MPC Live

  • I have class compliant Firerface UFX, in CC mode it works fine on iPad as an audio interface.

I just try this plugged into one of the USB port on the MPC but it did not work

There is a possibility that the two USB ports that we usually stick usb sticks in are not that capable for everything and that the main USB port that usually connect to the computer might work with the right kind of USBA/B adaptor, but I have not tested that
