I’m frustrated

MPC X TURNS ON AND SHUTS DOWN IMMEDIATELY

I just installed the mpc x 2.5 software, I was about to the the update on the firmware and the mpc x shut down on me before the update of firmware, now I turn it on and it shuts right back down. Akai any help please.

  • Mines does the same thing randomly and eventually it doesn't respond when I press the power button. The only way to get it powered up is to hold the power button in for up to 45 secs before I release it. I've spoken with Mike in customer service about it...

  • Same here! I get this error for a quarter of a second after the MPC boot up screen before it just shuts itself down.

    Ok guys I do have an update, so I begin to unplug the MPC X, so I can put it back in the box it came in because at this point I'm thinking it's going to go back for some kind of repair. When I open the box I see the Akai power supply it came with and I start to look to see what I was powering it with and it was some generic power supply that I thought went to the X, so I switched them out and just like that it powered back up with no issues, I turned it on and off like 10 times just to see and so far so good. I don't know if that was the problem or if it's just a fluke and the issue may still be there. We will see. I'm still going to call Akai Monday and talk to someone just in case. Please let me know if you are using your original power supply with your X or live. Thanks

    Thanks for posting!

    I'm glad to see that you worked out the issue! Yes, you will always want to use the power adapter that came with the MPC X. If you are using a third party power supply, make sure that the voltage and amperage specifications match exactly. Otherwise, the MPC X will not power on fully or worse, you risk damaging the unit.

    @BULLETHEAD BEATZ - I recommend contacting the Akai Pro representative you have been corresponding with to proceed with Warranty or Non-warranty action.

    MPC X TURNS ON THEN SHUTS DOWN IMMEDIATELY.

    I'm having issues with my MPC X. Sometimes it boots normally. All too often it tries to boot for about 40 seconds then just shuts down. Sometimes it will boot after 4 or 5 tries. Sometimes, for no apparent reason meters freeze and the unit just locks up. Other times all lights go dark except the screen and nothing works.

    I called the AkaiPro contact number listed on the support page (401) 658-4032 on 9/10/2019. The person that answered asked what model I was calling about, took my number and said I'd get a call back within 30 minutes. I'm still waiting.

    AkaiPro please help!!! I'd like to get this great unit back to rock solid and stable.
