I’m frustrated.

MPC-X will not boot up.

Just went to turn on my mpc-x and the unit powers on to the mpc screen then says its shutting down and just turns off. I was using the unit earlier in the day and went back to continue what i was doing and now oit will not boot up. I thought i was lucky because a friend also has an mpc-x that had a sound board or card burn out and now he gets no audio. he is awaiting another unit. If i can't get a fix for my unit, iI guess I will be on the phone with ZZounds in the morning.
Any ideas out there?

  • I've been having the same exact problem 1/3 of the time... 1/3 of the time it gets further but seems to be in a half booted state with no audio (but can load projects etc). The remaining 1/3 it seems to start normally. Seems extremely buggy at best...

    I would contact Akai and get some kind of feedback as far as what to do. It's just a matter of time before your mpc shuts down. I'm not too disappointed because I know that the machine is new model, but I don't ever remember having any of these issues with my older machines like the mpc3000 or even the 2000xl. In my studio these units are on for long periods of time without issues. lol Talk about workhorses. Come on Akai. With today's technology, we shouldn't be going through this. Hopefully they will get it right.
