MPC226 to iPhone (iMPC Pro 2 for iPhone) pads not working

Just bought MPC226 and now can’t connect it the right way to iPhone. I have apple adapter for that but still not getting any signals to pads when using iMPC PRO 2 for iPhone.. Garageband drums works fine, but not Akai app.

  • Hey Andy,

    Thanks for posting!

While it is possible to use plug and play devices like the MPD 226 with an iOS, it is not officially supported for compliance. Moreover, the MPD does not have a mapping preset for the iMPC Pro 2 application. Even if you were to establish a connection, it's not guaranteed that the controller would send corresponding MIDI data to the virtual functions in the software.

Something to keep in mind when attempting to connect MIDI controllers to mobile devices, is that the USB port from your phone will not supply enough current to power the controller. To do this, you will need to connect the MPD to a powered USB hub and then to your phone.

Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes!
