MpcX midi program channel

Hello, My question is:

When I set up the program ch # for the MPC X to match the channel in my sound module, once i hit play it always changes my sound module up by one channel. Example: Mpc X is set to Program channel 1 and once i hit play the sound module will jump to channel 2.

Has anyone had this problem and How can i fix this?

When I use my MPC 4000 is feature works well. Thanks in advance

  • Hey Robert,

    Thanks for posting!

It sounds like your module may start on a different program number than the MPC. MPC's program change value starts at 0 (and goes up to 127) so if your module starts at 1 and goes up to 128, the values of the programs will be offset by 1.

Check out your module and let me know what value range it uses!

  • Yea it goes from 1 - 128. Its a motif es rack. Is there a way to get around that or fix it? Cause that means my fantom x8 keyboard will be off too. Meaning i gotta start writing things down again

  • Hey Robert,

This behavior cannot be modified on the MPC but I do think this makes sense for a feature request as there is no real standard for whether hardware/software will begin at 0 or 1. The option to choose your first value could certainly be useful. Be sure to submit this as a feature request with the MPC 2 Software's built-in feedback module. The feedback module is represented by a smiley icon at the lower right side of the software next to the browser icons. This information goes directly to the Akai team for consideration!

If you need an alternative method of submitting feedback, you may use the following links:

MPC - Submit a Feature Request

MPC - Submit a Bug Report

    Thanks for your feedback!
