Mpd226 pad sensitivity

I don’t use my MPD226 in the traditional sense. Our band uses it to simply trigger scenes in Ableton for backing tracks via the drum pads. I just would like to know what threshold, curve, and gain settings will make it require the MOST force to send a MIDI note to Ableton, in order to avoid any accidental triggering of scenes due to flying drumstick tips, etc., thanks!

  • Hey Steve,

    Thanks for posting!

You can adjust the MPD's pad sensitivty in Global Mode. Press the Global button and use the cursor buttons to navigate to the Pads page. Pad Threshold will set the amount of force necessary to trigger a pad. The range is 0-10, 10 being the most amount of velocity needed.

You can also adjust the Pad Gain which effects the overall velocity sensitivity. The available range is 1–10. At 1, a lot of force will generate a velocity value of 127 and at 10, the opposite is true.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
