MPD32 stopped connecting (USB)

I've been using the MPD pretty consistently for a couple weeks now, everything working great. Yesterday I brought it to a friend's house in a backpack (padded and all), plugged it in, and to my surprise it didn't register with the laptop. The LCD is on and all the pads are registering on its own screen, but not lit up, no "Tap Tempo" light, nothing. The laptop doesn't make the 'USB plugged in' noise like it usually does, either, and Device Manager doesn't see it.

If it was any other device I'd think it was a driver issue, but these don't have drivers as far as I know, and I don't know why it was working every time I plugged it in before.

If it matters, I had a USB audio interface plugged in to one of the USB ports while I plugged the MPD in. I hadn't done that before so part of me thinks that was what caused it, but I don't know why.

I don't have the latest firmware, do you think I would be able to get that to see if it fixes any issues?
