MPK mini MK2. Question about Pads and Knobs, other button. How to adjust them?

MPK mini MK2. Question about Pads.

I am a Japanese user. I am using windows 8.
I cannot understand
"how to assign a MK2`s pads to MPK essential`s drum pad?".
And "how to adjust a MK2`s pads and knobs?".
And "what the meaning of CC and PROG CHANGE button?".

I press a PAD 1, but there are no sounds of A01 pad of MPC essential.
And if I press PAD 6 there are sounds of A13.

I am using MPK mini editor to try to fix this problems. But I cannot.

I read a guide of MPK mini editor and MPC essential. And, I did what they guide, but there no fix.

Maybe, I am mistakenly using "MPK mini MIDI Editor". It is my fault.
But, I cannot understand how to use MPK mini MIDI Editor completely.
This software has not good UI and ease of use.

  • I could solve a Pad assign problem.
    By refer to this page.
    http://www.akaipro.com/kb/article/160...
And, the chapter "MPK mini mkII Editor - Mapping" was an answer to my problem.
So now, I can press the pads of MPK mini2, the MPC essential` drum pads sounds correctly and correct place.

But. I still have a problem,

"what the meaning of CC and PROG CHANGE button?"

  • Hello,

Thanks for posting. I'm happy to help!

When you press the CC button, the pads no longer sent Note messages. They now send MIDI CC (Continuous Controller) values, which can be specified in the software editor. The MIDI device or software you are controlling must have a way to "assign" these values to various functions. Quite a lot can be accomplished this way!

The PROG CHANGE button will make the pads send the MIDI Program Change commands, which are commonly used for the MIDI device or software to change sounds/presets. Like the MIDI CC values, this must be supported by the software and, if compatible, must be programmed to some degree.

    Hope this helps!
