MPK249 + Reason 5: Remote file needed...
Hi, is there a Reason Remote file for the MPK249 and Reason 5? What documentation I've read says the MPK249 should map automatically to any Reason v3.x or higher, but the MPK249 isn't recognized during control surface scans.

Hi Brim,
Thanks for posting!
You may be confusing this with the original MPK49. I believe that native support for the MPK249 would start at Reason 7. You can try following our setup guide here:
MPK249 - Setup in Reason 7
If the MPK 249 will not scan in automatically and you cannot find the device in the control surface list manually, you can also set it up as a generic device. Follow the guide above for instructions on mapping the controls after doing this.
Hope this helps! -

I should have been more clear in my first post: I have Reason 5.0 and just bought a new MPK249. The MPK isn't recognized during surfaces scans, so for now I have it setup as a generic controller, but am not utilizing the full potential of the controller. I'm looking for the Remote files included in Reason 7, it seems foolish to spend hours mapping the controller myself when the maps for this software and controller already exist. Couldn't they just be loaded into the Akai Remote folder?
This linked article refers to downloading Remote files from the Akai website:

I see. I couldn't tell you if this is going to work or not, the maps could easily depend on functions or features that are not available in earlier versions. But, if you'd like to try it you can download the LUA Codec files and maps below:
MPK2 - Reason Lua Codec
MPK2 - Reason Remote Maps
I hope this helps! -

Hello, sorry for necroing the thread but it explains my problem exactly and the links seem to be dead. If someone could reupload the codec and maps, me and my new 249 would be forever grateful :)
