MPX8 - no stereo samples, no firmware update

MPX8 - I can't load stereo samples (44.1/16 - even after using MPX File Converter) but if I convert them to mono - it's ok.

I can't also update firmware (it must be up to date - 1.01).
So the situation is strange.

  • Hey mqpl,

    Thanks for posting!

    Sorry to hear that you are having trouble! The older MPX8 firmware requires the samples files to be 16-bit, mono WAVs. In order to import Stereo WAV files, you will need to update the Firmware which brings us to the second issue.

    I suggest ensuring that your card is SD/SDHC with a capacity up to 32 GB. Format it to the FAT32 file system and place the firmware update file on the root of the SD's directory. If you are still having issues, make sure that the MPX's MIDI ports are not connected to anything. Additional MIDI connections will disrupt a firmware update.

    Try this and let me know how it goes!

  • Everything's checked:
    * TOSHIBA 16 GB micro SD (with adapter) HC Class 10 UHS-1
    * FAT32
    * update file in the root of SD (no other files)
    * no MIDI device connected

    As I wrote the card is working with mono files and there's no problem with creating kits.
