My MPK Mini isn't playing middle C as middle C. Is there a factory reset?

My MPK Mini isn't playing middle C. Middle C according to my MPK it is A flat. Is there a factory reset as in "hold these two buttons while plugging in the USB to reset it"?

  • Hey Morgan,

    Thanks for posting!

There is no reset procedure for the MPK mini mkII as the editor software controls the parameters that can be edited. Have you transposed the whole keyboard or is it just middle C that is not sending properly? What software are you using with the MPK? Is there a setting in the software or plugin you are working with that is causing this note to send incorrectly? If the culprit key "moves" depending on which octave you are using, it sounds like it is probably software related.

To test this, you can use a MIDI monitoring software to visualize the MIDI output of the key itself:

    For testing on PC:
    MIDI-OX

This video will get you set up quickly for Input Monitoring in MIDI-OX:
    Monitoring MIDI Input with MIDI-OX

    For testing on Mac:
    snoize: MIDI Monitor

What note does the input monitor show that the key is sending?
