  • I thought this month but hopefully when they do, they fix midi sync and add mackie control protocol which will work with mackie mcu pro mixers..

  • lots of bugs!¡ I had a project with 5 different Sequences... all of them were at the same master tempo just different drum patterns and different accompaniment all beginning with track 1 etc...
came back another day and decided to add a new sequence to the previous 5 which were all different but with same timing...
started sequence 6 with track 1 and then when I recaped all i previously did in the other sequences i found all of them suddenly had their track(1)s changed to match sequence (6)s track 1...
    I was like ...DAMN IT!

  • I noticed that when I change warping algorithm to “better performance” my mpc starts to boot much longer..

And once my whole project got broken after I applied flanger effect to one of the programs and started to write automation.. First my MPC live got frozen, then it rebooted, and after reboot all samples were gone.. though midi data was still in the project.. and there were samples on pads with “?” In the end of each sample name.. that made me very sad..

  • To all people here : can you also click on the +1 button for the issue there, linked with midi / audio latency . Maybe Akai will move if counters are higher and higher ....

Suggest Akai invest in better R&D and better product teams geared towards human first design - user on-boarding and UI / UX (user interface and experience) is way below what you might expect from any touch screen device. Granted it’s a sampler not an iPhone, but when billions of users are used to touch devices that simply work, are intuitive, and connect to everything bug free, Akai have a lot of catching up to do if they want to secure new users. The software is even worse, sorry Akai you need to hear this stuff, it’s 2018.

I for one have yet to be convinced Akai no what they’re doing despite all the hype surrounding their samplers and I’m pretty comfortable on a lot of hardware. Workflow feels tired and dated and there are way too many bugs atm. Looking forward to updates for sure.

  • Well idk if there are billions of producers out there.. I'm sure your use to other products like maschine.. the whole point behind the touch screen is ease of use and you really don't even need to use the touch screen.. software does what it suppose to if your looking to just draw a beat then just friuty loops.. like others who lack timing and creativity.. out the box it works for me.. then again I own the 3000 and the 2000.. and sold my 2500.. meaning I like others grew up on the MPC's and love the timing... more to come from akai.. at least your not tied to software that fails like machine.. i owned Studio and K61 loved the controllers but who really just wants a controller..

  • Exactly. Never been a fan of controllers or being tied the laptop or workstation. Hardware is def the way to go, if it integrates into your workflow/daw properly and is simple to use. I write fast, often standing as you would performing so it’s super important that devices function properly.

When I talk about touch screens i mean more about the interface itself and access into core functions, navigation etc. Drawing midi for me is about as uncreative as it gets but we all need to fix things up on the fly. Connectivity and the constant bugs are the real issue. Sort these and it’s a winner.
