MPD218 - No sound with noterepeat turned on

I don't understand why Note Repeat doesn't work with MPC Essentials, and Ableton. I checked the midi preferences and it's all ok ! I think that i have this problem since i have set up my MPD218 pads. When i touch note repeat, pads are muted. Someone help me please.

    Thanks for posting!

Note repeat requires a clock signal. If no pads respond when you have noterepeat turned on, you're not sending MIDI clock to the MPD.

    Do this:

    - Hold NR CONFIG and press Pad15 (external clock) until it lights up and stays lit. Your MPD218 will now wait for a clock signal from Essentials.
    - In MPC Essentials, go to the preferences > Sync tab
    - In one of the pull down menus under the word "To" choose the MPD218
    - Exit the preferences and press play in Essentials

Essentials will now be sending clock signal to your MPD218 and the noterepeat will respond.

Keep in mind, your DAW will need to be actively playing in order to send clock signal. In other words, this won't work when MPC Essentials is stopped since the MPD218 will have nothing to follow.

If you don't want to sync with Essentials, hold NR CONFIG and press Pad15 again to turn the external sync off. The MPD218 will now follow it's own clock.

    I hope this helps!
