NOTE repeat ARP time division SKIP tempo DROP beat over 1/8 MPK249

Hi guys,
I would ask you if anyone could help me about this mistakes!
when I start ARP or NOTE REPEAT and set time division over the 1/8 the beat drop
and lost time !
My DAW is Logic and I know how to set MIDI CLOCK to external and setting keyboard to EXTERNAL and MIDI CC cause I had already an 49 model and I never had similar problems!
Hope anyone can help me ! Thanks for you support

  • Hey Leonardo,

    Thanks for posting!

I want to make sure I understand your post. You are saying that enabling the MPK249's arpeggiator or note repeat and setting the time division to 1/8 causes Logic to drop audio playback or stop playing entirely? It also sounds like timing might be losing synchronization? A little more information will help me understand. It would also be helpful if you could please post a screen capture of the software environment in addition to what plugins you are using in Logic.

    Thank you!

  • Hi nick,
thanks for your fast reply and sorry for my bad explanation!
i captured some screen by my logic to let you understand !
When I ARP on 1/4 or 1/4 T work almost fine... also a little skip on half 1/4 T

but if I ARP over 1/8 the arp lose time and skip tempo!

  • If the MPK is working properly with another DAW that is a good sign - it is receiving MIDI clock properly and is triggering the notes. What other DAW did you use? I have tested the arpeggiator and note repeat functions of an MPK225 here with Logic Pro X v10.0.7 without any issues.

Since the MPK is dependent on the clock signal from whatever DAW you are using, it sounds like this issue may be rooted in the way that Logic is sending clock data to the controller.

Can you explain what is going on with the piano roll grid in the screen capture with the 1/4T notes? The grid is not even in the piano roll however it is inconsistent in that the spacing is the same for each measure. Is Logic forcing quantization somehow? I can also see that Snap is set to Smart. Since the MPK receives clock from Logic, notes from the arpeggiator and note repeat will be aligned with the grid even if Snap to Grid is disabled. Try turning off Snap to Grid and quantization and let me know if that yields a different result!
