One key touch

One thing that would be great to see is have one key touch with a midi keyboard and the progressions tab. I’d also be great to see an easier way to input your own progressions. There is very little information on that now and what little there is, is confusing.

  • Hey James,

    Thanks for posting!

Please be sure to submit any ideas you have for the MPC workflow with the MPC Software's built-in feedback module. The feedback module is represented by a smiley icon at the lower right corner of the MPC Software. Your feedback goes directly to the development team for consideration in a future update!

If you want to create your own progressions to use on the MPC hardware, start by writing a progression in the sequencer.

When you are satisfied with your progression, select Tools > Convert to Progression. MPC will analyze the chords in the progression and you will have the option of saving the progression as a .progression file in a directory on your computer. This process is outlined in detail on page 47 of the MPC Software user guide found in the Help menu.

To add those .progression files to your MPC, open the storage device that you use with your MPC on your computer and create a folder named Progressions on the storage device's root directory (it should not be contained in any other folders on the device).

Copy the .progression files you created with the MPC Software to the Progressions folder you created on the storage device. When you've added all your .progression files, eject the storage device from your computer and connect it to the MPC.

To use your progressions, start your MPC in Standalone Mode, enter Pad Perform Mode, and select Progressions. Your MPC will scan the Progressions folder you created and add them to the list of available progressions.

    I hope that helps you!
