Change in reply by Elmer Cooke to If you are so special, why are you arguing with a novice music maker like myself? You shouldn't have time to complain so much about ageism, and other trivial "parlor tricks" such as side-chaining. A professional does not resort to name-calling a kin to 3rd grader either. Elmer is my name, It's been for while, why would you go there? Next you will be calling out my race or gender. Bully tactics only work on children. I'm done here. Side-chaining works great. Thanks Akai!.

Change in reply by Daniel to You've said this on several occasions but not actually offered a definition. Side chaining is a feature of a signal processor and is applicable to any dynamic effect: You can independently bus in a control signal alongside the signal to process. The dynamic decisions are made on the control signal and applied to the signal to process. It is commonly used with a compressor such that the bass part is the control signal and the rest of the track is the signal to process..

Change in reply by Elmer Cooke to I'm afraid of a really, really, good update, with everything we want coming but - it coming at a $49.99 premium or something to that effect. Hopefully the competitive nature of this business will encourage them to continue releasing updates and improving their products from the inside out. There are more than one pieces of hardware that are begging to be discovered by the masses. People like new stuff, but they also like the dependability of brands like Akai, that have been a staple in samplers for a very long time. This is all just my humble opinion and I have no horse in the race, so take it with a grain of salt. *EDIT* I DO HAVE A HORSE IN THE RACE I BOUGHT AN MPC LIVE FOR OVER $1,000. LOL.
