VIP plugin and effect maps missing

With VIP 2.0, some plugin maps that were there before are not available with the plugin scan. Sample Logic and Spitfire Audio are not showing anymore, even though the maps are already in the VIP maps folder. How can they be available in the scan?

Also, you list of VIP effect maps is showing the Waves effects, but the scan doesn't show them. On my VST libraries folders that are scanned, I only have the Waveshell dll. Does VIP is looking for another folder with other files? I have many Waves plugins, but none are showing.

Thanks for your help.

  • VIP scans two plugin folders at the time (the ones you set in Settings/PluginManager at the lower left). After finishing that you can set another and do another scan etc. Sounds to me the Waves plugins you have, may be in another directory than the ones you set in the Plugin Manager.

    Hi Yan,

    Thanks for posting!

The Sample Logic/Spitfire maps should pop up as available to download, but if you already have them and they don't show up, it may indicate that you're plugin version is different. What folder do you see these maps in? Try placing them in your User Maps folder and scanning again.

If you still have trouble, what plugins are you having trouble with specifically? Take screenshot of the plugin manager so I can see what's going on.

For Waves, you'll want to make sure that you are scanning in the correct bit version of the Waveshell.dll (maybe check in the Waves Central app and make sure the plugins are installed), but you should only need to have that Waveshell.dll file in your plugin folder. Your plugins will show up individually in the plugin manager once the wavshell.dll has been scanned. And then just download/activate the maps for each of them.

Again, to continue, I'd need to know which plugins you have, their versions, where they are installed, etc. Screenshots are always very helpful so that I know we are on the same page.

    I hope this helps!

  • Hi Corey,

Putting the Sample Logic and Spitfire maps in the user folder enabled a correct scan to detect the maps.

For Waves, I added a link to the Waves folder in the VIP plugin manager and it allowed me to add the Waves plugins I own.

    Thanks!
