I’m perplexed yet hopeful

"VIP Update Available" Emails Sent to Customers Must Conspicuously Link To Download. LOL!

We AKAI Professional customers ought to be able to perform a VIP software update, by locating the pertinent download link with _ease_. inMusic companies -- including AKAI would better serve their user base, if their focus was more obsessively about "Continuous Process Improvement" for maximizing customer experience" so that issues such as these are much less unlikely:

1) VIP Update Download links' location at the akaipro.com site is not conspicuous to those searching for it at all -- and most notably, this morning's Email to us registered [Advance series keyboard] end-users, alerting us that "VIP 2.0 NOW AVAILABLE!" doesn't provide a hot mouse-over / download link that's for VIP 2.0 at all. (I found this omission hilarious. See attached image)

2) The HELP menu within VIP software does not, and perhaps should, include the menu option:
CHECK FOR AVAILABLE UPDATES which directly takes us registered VIP users to suitable download link, if our version of VIP is update-eligible.

3) The Akai Professional Knowledge Base article: "VIP Software: How to Download and Install" does not contain a conspicuously placed download link for pertinent, registered users! (I found this omission humorous). products > keyboards > Advance 61/49/25 > Docs and Downloads does not conspicuously provide a download link for VIP software updates [e.g., NEW! VIP 2.0].

5) The VIP STORE does not (and perhaps could) contain the VIP software download link for updates, for good measure.

6) Noteworthy also, is the fact that VIP isn't even listed to the right of this panel, at the top of these Forum pages, under RELATED PRODUCT / SERVICE.

You fine folks throughout inMusic need better focus on information "continuity", IMHO, as I've been excitedly searching over a full hour, for VIP 2.0 download link having gotten the news from Akai Pro via Email -- but alas, to no avail.

May we please see a fix for this oversight almost immediately, in the form of one or more recommendations above being fulfilled, and notifying us via Email how to download VIP 2.0? For maximum customer experience, I think this would be great.

Anyone agree?

I didn't have any trouble at all finding a download link. When i started VIP, VIP alerted me that there was a new 2.0 update available and also provided a button to click to download instantly. It was a small download.

I also logged into my akai account and the software update download link was in the same area as the rest of the other akai advance downloads.

Maybe akai shouldve included in the email "Run your VIP software or log into your akai account to download" and maybe provide a link to the account login page.

I find that there's no need to search at all for the advance software updates. When you run the software you will be alerted that there's a new update and a link will be provided. I have the mpc ren and the update system works the same. Lots of software do it this way. I think thats super convenient!
    • But I akready had VIP 1.x.x installed when I got the 2.0 announcement, ehich was devoidvof politely tWlling me where to go to get it.

That's just cruelty especially for the "gifted A.D.D. mind"! ;-/

Where is the download link for VIP 2.0 Update?
'Bet you can't quickly find it -- it's utterly *buried* somewhere! It should be conspicuous, in the VIP Store or *someplace* that's logical -- and not hidden within some obscure layer of the AKAI Advance download or wherever it's lurking.... [Sighs]

      Am I right about it?

    Hi,

Sorry you had so much trouble finding the update link. Like Tbone mentioned, the software will tell you when there are updates and they will also be posted on your account page. If you're familiar with Akai products, this is pretty standard.

I'll be sure to pass along some of your concerns to our team.

  • You guys, kindly look again at the copy of the mail that was sent out announcing the VIP 2 0 release:
Note that it curiously provided absolutely no instructions whosoever how to obtain access to the newly announced update to 2 0.
Many, many people like myself are new to AKAI Professional especially due to the novelty of your VIP equipoed products -- hence, will just like myself, have absolutely no idea what to do with that "New VIP 2.O Update Available" announcement.
And still without a link, after all these many hours, I am *yet* scratching my head.

    So -- Where's the link fellas? 8-p

    • Im trying to help you but If you have a personal axe to grind with akai , this is where i exit stage left. Take care.
    • Your instructions were understood earlier, thank you. Evidently a direct link does not yet exist for the download -- yet the expression of the need for a responsible Company to properly inform end-users with instructions on the "how" re: the newly-available Update download, though passionate, was respectable, and needful.

Corey S. knows I love the inMusic family of companies and that the feedback herein is exceedingly valuable to inMusic's maturity into a formidable Company in this field.

Those worthwhile Customer Feedback appeals in this IDEA section represent an appropriately placed, serious appeal for PQI (Process Quality Improvement) style of management, within the *entirety* of inMusic -- rather thsn some flippant axe to grind with anyone or any entity.

Thanks in advance to Akai for considering how they might leverage those appeals to the Customer's -- as well as the Company's benefit.
