WARP !

Hello Akai !

I just sample a 8 beats loop in my MPC live, the loop has a really bad quantize and I try to up the tempo from 119,?? to 125. And it's not really possible.
Maybe I haven't the good way to do that. I'm trying on audio track and it's not really possible to quantize each beat on the grid, but the sound is better than I try to warp the sample in a Program Edit.

The quality of the warp is not as good as the time strech of my MPC 2000XL !!!

It will be great to have a real warp with the possibility quantize manually or automatically each transient on the grid, and maybe add a panel of algorithm like in the MPC 2000XL

Best !

  • Hey REFLEX,

    Thanks for posting!

You will get a better result when warping audio if you detect the tempo of the sample with Sample Edit mode and enter that value in the BPM field in the Audio Edit menu.

There is also a more robust warping function available in the MPC Software that you can use to process the audio. You could process audio with the software's algorithm then export that file as audio and import it into standalone to continue working on it.

If you have an idea for the MPC's workflow, please be sure to submit a feature request with the MPC 2 Software's built-in feedback module. The feedback module is represented by a smiley icon at the lower right side of the software next to the browser icons. This information goes directly to the Akai team for consideration!
