Alesis Crimson II Drum Module Bugs: Turned Off Randomly, LED Screen Stopped Responding to Dial and Arrow Buttons

During my 3rd session using my brand new Alesis Crimson II drum module, I have experienced the following 2 major issues:

1) Drum module randomly turned off while practicing with a pre-programmed song

2) The LED screen stopped registering the turning of the dial as well as the pushing of the left & right arrow buttons (i.e., the screen froze although the kit was still playable). Had to turn module off and on again to get it back to working.

These 2 issues occurred with less than 4 hours use of the drum module, both during the same session. It concerns me greatly. Please advise.

    Yes my module is buggy as well, maybe a firmware update
    Might help, but I don't have much faith is Alesis, Dm10 module
    Can do so much more like download kits that idea was dropped
    As well as the iPad drum module no hope for them
    I replaced my Crimson module with a roland
    No more problems

    It sounds like your product may need to be serviced. Warranty and non-warranty claims are not handled here on the forum, but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    Not that this is necessarily a good thing, but I actually found a scenario that reliably causes the drum module to quit unexpectedly. Maybe this info could get back to the programming team? Here it is:

    1) Push Kit button, dial to the HOUSE kit.
    2) Push Menu button, then VOICE
    3) Adjust the volume of the Kick drum down
    4) Push any other drum module button (such as Menu or Exit) or even hit a crash cymbal once
    5) Module turns off

    Now, I discovered something else with the drum module that might be a feature, but also might be a bug (I'm really not sure). Here's the scenario:

    1) Push the Song button to start playing along with any song
    2) Push the Click button to start the metronome
    3) Striking the left-most crash cymbal starts and stops the song (i.e., I can use the crash as an alternate song start/stop trigger). This is great for fill practicing, by the way.

    But is that a feature or a module bug? (I don't recall seeing it in the module.)

    Anyway, I submitted the Warranty form on the Alesis Support Page on Wednesday (12/20/2017). No word back yet. I'll call the Support Office in a few days.

  • My crimson 2 keeps disconnecting after approx 1 minute when using Superior drummer 3. Kit is only 3 months old!!
