Alesis product durability / product support?

Just getting started drumming. Really want to buy the new strike pro kit but I'm getting a lot of push to buy Roland. Looking for info on how Alesis products hold up and how warranty and post-warranty support is from Alesis

  • Hi Rich I will share my experience with Alesis with you. Unfortunately its not a good one. I bought a new Alesis Crimson kit from Guitar Center and 3 weeks after receiving it the module locked up on the loading screen. I called and set up RMA. The gentleman who set up the RMA said they would ship me a new module as soon as they received the old one. I expressed shipped it to them and my tracking indicates they got it two days later.
It's been 3 months now with no word from Alesis. I emailed the gentleman who set up my RMA and he replied that he no longer works in customer service and suggested I call Alesis customer service. After numerouse attempts I finally got to speak with someone. They said they would look into it and call me back within an hour. Never heard from anyone.
This was a brand new drum kit that I owned for three weeks and its been useless for three months without the module. Completely unacceptable in my opinion.

Would definitely go with Roland. Besides the Strike kit is still a myth at this point until we actually hear a working module.

  • Hello,

Chad - Sorry to hear about your experience with Alesis. I can assure you this isn't something that happens often. We want to make sure you're completely satisfied with both our company and our products.

Rich - All of our Alesis products are built to last as long as you want them to. Keep in mind that electronic kits are more fragile than acoustic kits. In other words, if your normal playing style is at a '10', you may want to take it down to a '7' or an '8'. This is the case with virtually any brand of electronic drums. If you take care of your kit and don't beat on it in the same way you would an acoustic kit it will last you a long time. If you do find that something happens with your kit, that it's damaged in any way, etc. let us know, and we'll be happy to help you out! While the warranty on our products is only valid in the country in which you purchase the kit, if and when you fall outside of the manufacturer's warranty, we have many options available to ensure you'll be able to get back up and running as quickly as possible. We can also help you out with any setup or personalization questions you may have. Simply log on to www.alesis.com/support, and we'll be happy to help you in any way we can!

  • We're just as excited for the Strike Pro Kit as you. Manuals and detailed specifications are currently being written, and will be posted to our website as soon as they are available. Due to the nature of product announcements (like those made at this year’s Musikmesse), we will be unable to provide advanced knowledge of features or specifications before they are publicly announced. For the latest product information, please stay tuned to the product pages on our website. For product availability, please contact your local dealer.
