Alesis Q49 ceasing to work

Hi. I have owned an Alesis Q49 keyboard for over a year now and for half a year it has stopped being registered on my Mac OSX iBook on Reason (program I use). Reason does not register it when I tell it and only the "Midi / Select" button turns on and off. It is really frustrating and I miss making music with it. Can anyone please help?

    Sorry you're having trouble with that.

    The Q49 is class-compliant keyboard so the first thing you should do is check out our troubleshooting guide to confirm it's connecting properly:

    You'll also want to make sure to test different USB cables, ports and even plug it in to a different computer to see if it responds any differently.

    If you continue to have trouble, this may indicate a problem with the hardware. Warranty and non-warranty claims are not handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction. Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit Warranty or Service inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the Alesis Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu.


    • For quicker support, call your nearest Support Office or International Distributor.
