  • Hi Giorgos,

Thanks for posting. Sorry you're having issues with your Q49.

Let's have you run a test to see if your controller is sending MIDI data properly.

    MIDI-OX - PC - http://www.midiox.com/

In addition to the test below using MIDI-OX, you can also use Send SX (Windows). This program will let you know if and what MIDI information the controller is sending.

**Before you run MIDI-OX connect the MIDI Controller and power on.

    1. Download and install MIDI-OX.
    2. Run the MIDI OX application.
    3. Select the Options menu and select MIDI Devices. Make sure to select MIDI inputs and MIDI Outputs for the MIDI controller, in this case, the USB Audio Device and click OK.
    4. Select the View menu and select Input Monitor. The field type, Data1, contains the CC information. Test the functions of your controller in the monitor.

    MIDI Monitor - Mac OS X - http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/

What is it MIDI Monitor? MIDI Monitor is a free utility for Mac OS X which displays MIDI signals in a variety of formats. It can watch both incoming and outgoing MIDI streams and can filter them by message type and channel. Musicians will find it handy for tracking down confusing MIDI problems. Programmers can use it to test MIDI drivers and applications. MIDI Monitor is free to download and use.

    1. Download, and Install MIDI Monitor.
    2. Open MIDI Monitor.
    3. Click on the Sources tab to view MIDI devices. Confirm that your USB/MIDI device is listed.
    4. Once you confirm your MIDI device is connected and listed. Play any key(s) on your keyboard/controller to confirm each button or key is sending data to your computer. If your device is working you will see a message with data like below. The device is not sending data you may have a hardware issue.

Try this out and let me know how it goes!

  • OK, based on what I can see from the screenshot above, it seems your keyboard is sending MIDI information properly; which means this issue is related to your software and/or your computer. Please try using another USB cable and port with your computer and controller. Additionally, make sure that your computer is properly optimized:

What software and plugin(s) are you using with your controller? Does this issue persist with another plugin or in any other recording software?
