Alesis SamplePad Blue Screen of Death

I'm reaching out to you because I ran into a major problem with the Alesis SamplePad I just bought NEW. First, it arrived and right out of the box it worked great Tuesday (2/24/15) night for our worship set rehearsal. Really easy to use; nice sounds; the band loved it!

The problem came Saturday night when I wanted to rehearse on my own prior to our worship service on Sunday (3/1/15), and also load some new sounds into the kits from the SD card. I connected the AC adapter and I turned on the unit and got this blank blue screen thing that Guillermo is describing in his post here (http://community.alesis.com/alesis/to...). I can't clear it no matter what I try--even the "factory reset" the manual describes by holding down the UP and DOWN value buttons while turning the power on. What gives? This things needs to work for our worship service; why is it doing this??? Help!!!!

I saw Guillermo had the identical problem on this forum post but it doesn't show how (or if) it was resolved.

What do I do? Any help would be appreciated. I hate to send it back to Music123 if I can just have it fixed "in the field" but I really need it for tomorrow at 7:00 a.m.. Guessing that is not going to happen. :(

    Thanks for posting! I'm sorry to hear about your experience. We want to help you out. If after performing the Factory Reset, you're still seeing this blank blue screen then you'll need to get it serviced. Warranty and non-warranty claims are not handled here on the forum but I want to point you in the right direction on getting this serviced. Please contact Alesis support. Simply log onto http://www.alesis.com/support to contact support.

    Thanks for responding! I actually did call your tech support first and they confirmed it required service, but they don't do cross-shipping, they advised. Then I called the online dealer I purchased it from (Music 123) and they offered to exchange it with a working model, so I'm going to do that! They have been really good to work with. I have always liked Alesis products and I'm used to expecting the best from them, so it's disappointing that such a new product is experiencing this type of failure anomaly. Hopefully you guys can get this bug fixed on all the new production models. Once you get used to having this tool in your drum toolbox, it's hard to live without. :)

    ONE MORE THING - do you know if the SamplePad can accept SDHC (high capacity SD cards) in its memory slot, or do they have to be regular SD cards? I know your website says the SamplePad Pro can accept SDHC, but I couldn't anything specific about this model. Can you make sure that is prominently included in the specs somewhere?.

    Thanks for the info! No, I recommend using a standard SD card with your SamplePad. For further info, I recommend checking out this helpful link here.
