Alesis Strike: Kit too large

Hi Folks,

I was editing one of the kits on the Strike, using all factory instruments, and tried to save it, when the system responded "kit is too large".

Do I need to delete something to make space, or is there a maximum size per kit, even using factory instruments?

Thanks!
Paul

  • Welp, I managed ot resolve this by eliminating some of the instruments that had "ambient" in their names. They seem pretty large. I now got the kit at 197MB. However, come on Alesis, a 200 meg limit? Geez....

  • I managed to save one and it's 211Mb with no errors but I had to go to the module and select NONE for Crash 3 which I don't have. There is no option for "None" in the PC Editor software. This is a detail that was overlooked. Need a little more QA on this.

My question is how can a kit be too large if your selecting the presets and you only modify with provided samples or only change a trigger or an FX? I will echo Pauls comment above "...a 200 meg limit? Geez...."

We have tech with AI today. How can you design something with such limitations? Feel like the modules are based on the old "... never need more than 64Kb of memory..." quote by Bill Gates I believe. The drum community is lagging way behind it's electronic counterparts.
