Alesis DM Lite - hi hat sensitivity

Hi

does anyone know if the hi hat controller can be adjusted either mechanically or in the head unit? We have just had the kit delivered and found you have to press the hi hat pedal really hard (much harder than an acoustic kit or other electronic kits I have played on). i have a 6 year old daughter and she cannot keep it pressed down hard enough

I can't find anywhere in the instruction manual or online - anyone help?

    Hi Vicky,

    Thanks for posting!

The first thing that you'll want to do is check and make sure that you have the hihat pedal connected to the hi-hat input and not the kick pedal. These look virtually the same, though I believe they are labeled on the bottom.

If they are connected correctly or aren't labeled as I suspect, try switching them anyway and see if the response gets any better.

The Hi-hat pedal is not built to need to be adjusted, though we've never seen this cause any issues in the past. If you're still having trouble with this, I'd recommend reaching out to our support team to take a closer look with you. Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Technical Assistance inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the Alesis Support Page. Select Technical Assistance from the drop down menu.

    or

    • For quicker support, call your nearest Support Office or International Distributor.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
