Anyone figure out the crash choke trigger? on strike pro and Easy Drummer

Im playing around with my Strike Pro kit with Easy Drummer and I cannot get the crash to mute/choke when I grab it, it just triggers a different sound like a snare. I don't see and way to change the midi notes on it from the module it doesn't seem to show anything. Is there another area to set this up?
ps. if you have a good Hi Hat set up Id love to see it. I have it working but not the greatest, seems sporadic and can't get a good partial open sound thats good.

  • Hello Randall,

    Thank you for posting!

This would have to be mapped directly in the EZ Drummer software and not from the module itself.  Check this link out for instructions on how to manually map your kit to the EZ Drummer software.

Let me know f this helps!

  • I don't believe i can map it because I have to do it in the module and when i grab the cymbal no note number shows up on the module itself. when i grab the cymbal it triggers a sound but nothing shows up on the module even in note chase mode.

  • To mute crashes in Superior Drummer 3 you need to activate the mute send by grabbing the cymbal, identify the midi note in the midi monitor, and assign that midi note to the mute tail of that specific cymbal using the on screen box and not the separate midi map menu. This is probably the same case for EZ Drummer but I don’t have that. You also need to remove the mute hit note entirely. Repeat for all cymbals and you’re good to go.

One issue is that there is a slight delay when muting a cymbal (I’ve noticed this straight from the strike pro module as well) but superior drummer reads it as an instant mute when the midi is recorded and played back. I’m not sure why it doesn’t do that with normal listening and playing.
