Change in reply by Carl Forgues to Thanks for your reply Bill. Well, i went to see the great people @ Long & Mcquade in Quebec city this morning and placed my order. I've been fooling around with the demo kit in store for a few weeks now and i really like the pads, sounds, etc. So, fingers crossed, i'm giving Alesis a try. Since my kit was ordered this morning, will it come with the 1.40 firmware already installed? Thank you..

Changed description to Hi, I know that there's tons of posts like mine but still. I'm looking to buy a new E-Drum. It will be used for playing live (2-3 times a month) and rehearsal (1hr a day). I am not too familiar with Alesis. Have been a Roland user for decades. I was looking for a TD30 at first but as you know, Roland doesn't make them anymore. The Td25 is great but the sound module is a big joke and the TD50 is way too expensive. That brings me to the Strike pro. I've discarded Yamaha as i hate their pads and wasn't impressed with the sound library either. I've read good, bad, really good and really bad things about the Strike pro and i want to hear from those who have one. So, Strike pro: yes or no based on your experience? Also, what about customer service. Sent a few questions 1 week ago And no answer yet. If there's issues with the kit in the future, i want A company that is proactive to fix it. Thanks a lot.
