DM Lite pads have different volume

Hello! After using the DM light for about a year the snare pad and the tom 2 pad don't make strong enough sound to be able to hear it. All the other pads works fine. I have change the pads on the different channels, så its nothing wrong with the actual pads.Is there a way to set the sound on each pads in a drum kit? (IM NOT TALKING ABOUT PATTERNS AND SUCH). If I can increase the volume on snare and tom2 I can use the set again, otherwise its just junkyard stuff... sad but true...

  • Hi Bjorn,

Thanks for posting. Sorry you're having issues with your DM Lite Kit.

While there isn't a way to set the volume of the pads individually, it may help to adjust the volume of your kits. To adjust the volume of each separate kit:

    1. Do one of the following:
    • With the Variation Button lit red, double-press the 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 Button to select Kit 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 (respectively).
    • With the Variation Button lit green, double-press the 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 Button to select Kit 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 (respectively).

    2. The display will show an L ("level") and the volume level (00 – 32). Use the – or + Buttons to set the Kit's volume level. (The default volume level is 28.)

    3. Wait for 4 seconds. The drum module will automatically save the new setting.

Let me know how this goes.

  • This is awful :( I bought a DM Lite kit and have the same issue, snare too low, it's obviously a fault in manufacturing. Why on earth would the snare be so quiet? It's not usable!! And Bill R's response does not help, the OP want's to change the individual pad volume not the whole kit, that's the point, some of the pad's are too quiet.

  • We had similiar issue with a DM Lite kit bought recently. It worked fine on first setup - with regular headphones. Then we used it with other another headset (gaming headphones), and then the sounds from the snare, tom2 and kick were very low while the reste of the set sounded ok'ish (but low).

Turned out the jack on the gaming headset didn't connect correctly when pushed all the way in. The sound was correct when pulling the jack out just a little bit.

I also found the same explanation here:

  • We bought a second hand set and got the same problem with low general volume and especial the snare and tom 2. Some times it works and some times not. As electrical engineer I guessed on the cable harness and was ready to order a new spare but then I found this thread and it was the same problem and solution as described by Jan Thure, the head phone jack. If you pull it out a bit the overall volume increase and the two failing drums works again. It must be some design error in the jack.
