DM10 MKII kick pad not triggering

DM10 MKII Kick pad not triggering. This kit is brand new, it's been out of the box for approximately 2 hours. The first 45 minutes everything was fine, until I noticed my kick pedal had come loose from the pad. I readjusted the kick pedal and tightened it down, after that the kick pad would only trigger if the kick was kicked really hard. I adjusted the sensitivity, no settings changed in the time I adjusted the kick pedal. How can this be resolved? I really hope this isn't an example of the quality of this product.

  • Hi Lucas,

    Thanks for posting.

In addition to adjusting your sensitivity settings, you may also need to adjust your threshold settings. The threshold setting is similar to the sensitivity in that if it is set to a low value, a very light hit will trigger a sound. However, if the threshold is increased, there will be absolutely no sound until the pad is hit with a certain amount of force. This allows for accidental unintentional hits to automatically be eliminated in real-time.

Follow these steps to adjust your sensitivity settings:

    1. Press Trigger to enter the trigger interface page.
    2. hit the pad whose voice you want to edit. The pad's name will appear at the top of the display. You may also use the Down or Up buttons to select the pad's name at the top of the display, then use the dial to change it.
    3. The display will show the current trigger and its parameters. On this page, use the Down and Up buttons to select Threshold. Use the dial to edit the setting/value for this parameter.
    4. Press F3 to save your change.
    5. Press Exit to return to the previous page.

Let me know how this goes.

  • I've checked the threshold and no matter the value it doesn't change the fact that I have to hit the kick incredibly hard to get a response. I have used my fingers to tap around on the mesh and have determined that the center of the pad is not registering hits at all but only the bottom third of the pad is.
I've switched the kick pad to another cable and it still behaves the same way. Any other suggestions?

  • if that's the case, it sounds like you'll need to replace the pad.
