DM10 studio module no sound, triggers firing without input, button lag

Hello,

I just bought a DM10 Studio from an old friend from high school and i have the following issue

*the module powers on, but i get no sound at all. no metronome, no play along track, so drum sound.
*The visual representation of the triggers on the screen (the little circles on the bottom) are solid black which i believe means they are constantly firing
*there seems to be button lag, for instance if i spin the wheel to select a different kit, it gets locked up and its like it has to "think" for a while before it actually scrolls.

I have seen people have this problem but it was years ago, wondering if the solution has been found? Some people seemed to have resolved this issue with a different power supply

Can anyone give me some advice as to which pwoer supply to use?? I see many sketchy brands and some people just say "use any power supply with the following specs" which i can find but arent in front of me, while others say "anything but an official pwoer supply from alesis could damage your module"

So i dont want to just keep trying different ones around the house haha....

any advice here??? please help! thank you I live in the US by the way

  • Hi Sam,

Sorry you're having issues with your DM10 module.

It sounds like your product may need to be serviced. Warranty and non-warranty claims are not handled here on the forum, but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the Alesis Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu.

    or

    • For quicker support, call your nearest Support Office or International Distributor.

Make sure to reference or link this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • Make sure you have an AC/AC power supply, not AC/DC adapter. I think it’s also 12V, 1000 mAh as well, but can’t remember off the top of my head...

I hooked mine up with a DC adapter once and everything on it looked fine. Triggers fire properly, menus work, etc, but no sound came out.

So the correct power supply may only fix one of the issues, but it’s a start! And if you’re lucky, maybe the wrong power is all the issues!

    Best of luck!!
