DM6 Crosstalk

Ok Guys. This topic has been covered at length, I know. I have just purchased the DM6 so have the latest firmware. I have the hi-hat snare prob. Same as all the other unfortunates. Have tried shifting snare with hi-hat. To remove hat to another bar would make it difficult for me to play. I am left handed and learning. It clearly if a vibration issue. Just checking to see if there any new ideas as all the other posts were quite old.

  • Btw. It has been less noticeable since I have developed a little more control over the HH and don't hit it quite as hard.

  • Hello,

Thanks for posting! I'll be happy to help!

If you're having trouble with crosstalk on the DM6, check out our troubleshooting guide here:

DM6 - Optimizing Performance and Minimizing Crosstalk

The guide will walk you through a few common troubleshooting procedures, like updating the firmware, resetting the unit to factory settings and rearranging the pads and checking it's stability. The relationship between the pads are the biggest common factor for crosstalk problems, so often rearranging the pad's position on the rack arm and checking to ensure the clamps are secure can often resolve simple occurences of crosstalk.

If you're still having issues after going through this guide, please log on to www.alesis.com/support to connect with your nearest Support Office. You can find their contact information on that page.

    I hope this helps!

  • I read in another thread on this same problem where they stuffed the mounting tube w/ recyclable grocery bags. They said they stuffed it pretty full w/ numerous bags to help absorb the vibrations. I wondered if the spray foam Great Stuff would also do the trick.
