DM6 Pads With DM8 Module - Is It Possible?!

Hi, I have a DM6 kit and I'm thinking of getting a DM8 module to put on it in order to get more sounds etc. I think the input is the same, but are these kits compatible?!

Thanks!

  • Hi Timothy,

Thanks for posting. I'd like to help! You will need to purchase separate 1/4" cables to connect the pad and cymbal triggers to your module or interface since the DM6 module uses its own special "snake"-style connector instead of having several separate cables. (Note: Be sure to use TRS cables for the snare drum and hi-hat control/pedal. The other pads and cymbals use TS cables.) With our DM8 and DM10 kits, you can mix and match the parts because the parts use the same type of 1/4" connection.

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi there and thanks for the reply.

By the looks of it, at the bottom of the DM8, it takes the same "snake" style connector as the DM6, so I thought it'd work. I have a feeling it's a faulty module, as I bought it second hand and a few other things aren't too right with it.

But please confirm I'd need a different snake style connector or something, because the DM6 and DM8 pad inputs physically fit perfectly.

    Thanks

  • You should be able to use the DM8 cable snake with the DM6, however, we cannot guarantee proper functionality. In order to do so you'll need to be using the proper snake. The correct part number for this is 6281300810-A. If this is something you would like to order, please get in touch with our Parts department directly at 401-658-3131 Ext. 1403, or via email at parts@inmusicbrands.com
