DM8 + Trigger IO

I have the DM8 and now I bought the trigger IO, you know the DM8 brings the connector like old printer, so I want to leave all drumkit plugged on the brain and I want to connect 3 extra toms and 4 extra cymbals in the TriggerIO but I can't make it work, I have connected the cable midi-midi but only I can hear on the PC, the DM8 or Trigger IO, but not together, what I do wrong? Aaahh.. and usb-usb cable connected from the TriggerIO to the PC to FL Studio ...
I know, I can plug everything on the trigger IO, but I need buy 9 cables, that's no good idea.
Today i worked all day in this.. I'm tired, I need help guys, thanks.

  • Are you wanting the Trigger I/O to trigger the DM8 or are you trying to get the DM8 and the Trigger I/O to be recognized by your PC?

Your best bet is to connect the Trigger I/O to the DM8 and set-up instruments in the DM8. You will need a midi cable for this Once you get that done, you should only have to connect the DM8 to your PC (via USB) if you are triggering VSTs. There is a really good topic over at www.DMdrummer.com about this very thing:

    DM10 Expansion with Trigger I/O & ControlPad

Don't the the name fool you. The DM10 and DM8 are very similar and the technique of attaching the Trigger I/O to the DM10 is the same for the DM8. I hope that helps.

  • Hellfire, I'm trying to do this, exactly:

"Your best bet is to connect the Trigger I/O to the DM8 and set-up instruments in the DM8. You will need a midi cable for this Once you get that done, you should only have to connect the DM8 to your PC (via USB) if you are triggering VSTs. ",

But the problem is that never I went to "set-up instruments", tonight I will see, thanks a lot... I appreciate your patience in the forums.
