Effects not working when mute/aux3-4 button is pressed on multimix

Effects work fine when channel is routed through main mix but if I press the mute/aux button the effects are lost on all channels. Is the effects processor broken or am I doing something wrong?

  • Hi Adam,

Thanks for posting about your legacy MultiMix 16 Firewire.

Do you have anything connected to the ALT 3/4 OUT?

When the switch is pressed, the channel's output will no longer be routed to the main mix output. In addition to muting the channel, the audio will be routed to the stereo ALT 3/4 OUT found in the patchbay. If you don't have anything connected to this input, this switch will only serve as a mute button. If you do have something connected, like a multitrack recorder, for example; this button will act as a signal router.

    I hope this helps!

  • Yes I use it for my monitors. Have also used the same setup before with no problems. What can I do?

  • if that's the case, it sounds like your product may need to be serviced. Warranty and non-warranty claims are not handled here on the forum, but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the Alto Pro Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu.

    or

    • For quicker support, call your nearest Support Office or International Distributor.

Make sure to reference or link this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
