Fill Patterns on an SR-16

Hi,
I have recently purchased an SR-16 Drum Machine and because we play mostly country I have generated quite a few user patterns. The problem I am having is recording the fills in step mode and including them on the respective pattern. Could someone please take me through the procedure step by step as I find the video and manual confusing. Thank You.

  • Hi Barry,

    Thanks for posting.

Your fills will be created in the same way as a regular pattern. The only difference is that, when you're in Compose mode, hit the Fill button on your SR16 and hit the desired pad buttons to program your fill. Additionally, A or B fills can be selected to record or compose the fill.

    I hope this helps!

  • Hi Bill,
But Fills are normally only 4 beats long (sometimes less). The main patterns are all 8 beats. How would one do a fill ? One could start the fill at beat1 and finish at beat4, then finish the last 4 beats (of the fill) with the normal drum pattern ? Or do the fill from beat 5-8 ?? I also notice that once I tap the foot switch the fill will come in on that beat (not play to the end of the current pattern like the manual says) ??

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello Bill and Barry,
My issue completely. The manual says to press fill and then designate where the fill will begin. But, I can't figure out what buttons to push to adjust the start where the fill will begin. There are three 000 with a line under the first 0. Then a slash and two more 00. I have figured out how to choose numbers for the two 00's using the up and down arrows. But, how/what do I do to designate where to begin with the 000 numbers?

Is there a special mode to be in besides "compose," or .......?
