GuitarLink is beeping

I just a GuitarLink Plus for my Mac and while the sound is pretty good there as an annoying beeping in the background. I tried changing the buffer size and the sample rate but it's still there in the background, ruining whatever is recorded.

Anybody got an idea what is wrong?

I am running a 2014 Macbook Pro on Mac Os 10.11.3 with Logic Pro as the DAW

    Sorry you're having problems with your GuitarLink! I'll be happy to help!

    -Under what circumstances does the beeping occur?
    -Have you tried all your USB ports?
    -Do you have any other USB/MIDI devices connected to your Macbook Pro?
    -Does this happen in another DAWs?

    Make sure you're going directly into your USB port and not through a hub. Additionally some devices like cell phones, for example, can transmit beeping and other types of noises if they're in the vicinity of the computer.

    I'm sure we can get to the bottom of this together! Let me know how this goes!

    So far, it happens all the time.
    I have tried every USB port on the computer and I am not using a USB hub.
    There are no other USB or Midi devices connected.
    I have also tried this in Pro Tools with the same results.

    It does not sound like EMI or the noise generated by cellular phones but more like a digital error. The beeping is at a constant rate and volume.

    I have not done any setup when I started using the GuitarLink but just used the setup generated by the computer itself. It is supposed to be plug and play? If not, is there a something I should for a setup?

  • So I tried the GuitarLink on another Macbook running Snow Leopard and the same thing happened. A constant beeping in the background. Am I dealing with a defective product?

    Hi Simon,

    The GuitarLink will be class-compliant on the Mac operating system. If you're continuing to face the beeping sound, i'd recommend giving a call to your nearest Alesis Support Office where an experienced technician can talk you through this over the phone. Their contact numbers will be posted there.
