Headphone output sounds different than mains output thru KC-350

I don't seem to be able to get the same sound out of my QS-6 keyboard main outputs into my Roland KC-350 amp, as I do out of the headphone output. Doesn't matter what headphones I use, with phones I get a real nice piano (true stereo patch), with a decent reverb, but thru the amp I get a real bassy, sort of hollow sound, with too much reverb. I have adjusted the amp EQ about every way I can, but it still doesn't sound as good as the phones. Is the output to the mains from a different place in the audio stream?

  • Hello,

I would like to help. You can try to reinitialize the keyboard. You can do this by powering on the keyboard while holding [0] and [3]. Memory remains intact in the User Bank. The Preset Bank is unaffected, as it is permanently stored in the keyboard's ROM (Read Only Memory). Ensure that you adjusted the EQ's correctly on your amp. If you're still experiencing the bassy sound to your amp, you may have an issue with your keyboard's output. If this is the case, you'll require service.

Our Alesis products have a 1 year manufacturer warranty from the original purchase date from an authorized Alesis retailer. Since you are out of warranty and your product requires service, below I've listed a list of our authorized service centers for non-warranty repair.
