I’m unsure

How do I map the VX49 in cubase 8?

I want to map the vx49 to use the transpose functions with cubase.
it's my first midi controller and I don't understand mapping.
Thanks.

  • Hello,

Thanks for posting. The VX49 includes presets for a variety of popular DAWs, including Cubase. Simply rotate the data dial to select Cubase, then push the dial down (like a button) to confirm. This will pre-map your VX49 to the software. Use the Cursors to move between different fields and tabs. You can change some global settings in this mode, like the MIDI channel (MIDI Ch), octave (Oct.), and transposition (Trans).

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hello everyone
I recently bought a VX49 and it works perfectly fine with the VIP Software and everything. Only the Transport Controls like Play, Pause etc. wont work. And i‘ve selectet Cubase in the Setup mode.

  • Sadly this does not work at all. I don‘t know if there‘s a software or a firmware problem with the vx49 or with cubase. Isn’t there a way to map the transport buttons manually? Because as i said anything works perfectly fine but these buttons drive me crazy cause i want them to work.

  • If the built-in mapping isn't working for you, then you will need to manually map these parameters yourself. Check out this post from Steinberg's forum that will walk you through this process. The Oxygen controller is used as an example, but the steps should be the same for the VX49. Check it out below:
